To make this easy Christmas dessert, you only need a few simple ingredients. Remember that you can also scroll down to the full recipe card with measurements at the end of this post.

  • Popped popcorn kernels – To make this recipe even easier, you can buy a bag of popped popcorn at your local grocery store. You can also just get popcorn kernels or a bag of microwave popcorn too and pop it yourself.
  • Vanilla candy melts – Candy melts like these Wilton candy melts are what I usually use. You can also use white chocolate as well.
  • Tiny Pretzels – Tiny pretzels work perfectly for this recipe, but if you can’t find them you can crush large pretzels into small pieces too.
  • Red and green M&M’s candies – Use more or less than I call for, depending on your personal preferences.
  • Christmas sprinkles – I love to grab a blend of sprinkles at Target this time of year. You can also use nonpareils, sugar crystal sprinkles or jimmies in festive colors.

You’ll also need:

  • A large baking tray
  • Parchment paper

Tips for the Best Christmas Popcorn

While this recipe can be stored for longer, I recommend eating it within a few days as popcorn tends to go stale quickly.

Experiment with different flavored candy melts like mint, chocolate, vanilla or peppermint, or try adding in other sweet treats like crushed candy canes, marshmallows or mini candy canes.

You can also easily use this recipe to create festive popcorn for other holidays and special events. Just swap out the colors of M&M’s and sprinkles!
