Ingredients Needed for Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken
To make this Crockpot Honey Garlic Chicken, you’ll need a few simple ingredients you can find at your local grocery store. You can also scroll to the end of this post for the full printable recipe card with all of the measurements you need.
- Chicken breasts
- Reduced sodium soy sauce
- Honey
- Hoisin sauce
- Rice wine vinegar
- Toasted sesame oil
- Garlic
- Scallions or green onions
- Sesame seeds
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Optional: Sriracha or red pepper flakes
I use boneless, skinless chicken breasts for this recipe, but you can also substitute boneless, skinless chicken thighs.
I prefer using low sodium soy sauce as the marinade base, because it’s what our family uses regularly and I have easily on hand. However, you can use regular soy sauce or even coconut aminos.
If you don’t have honey at home, you can substitute brown sugar to taste.
Both rice wine vinegar and hoisin sauce is found in the International aisle or Asian section of your grocery store, along with sesame oil.
I love adding fresh garlic and ginger to the sauce, but if you don’t have it you can also substitute ground ginger and garlic powder.
If you like spicy food, add a little sriracha or red pepper flakes to your sauce!
