Next, muddle the fruits and mint. In each of the two serving glasses, add 1/8 cup of blueberries, 1/8 cup of raspberries and 5 mint leaves. Using a muddler or the back of a spoon, gently muddle the ingredients in the glasses to release the flavors. Be careful not to over-muddle the mint, as it can become bitter.

Tips & Variations on this Blueberry Raspberry Mint Mocktail

Give these ideas a try the next time you make this summer mocktail:

  • Use frozen berries out-of-season: thaw slightly before muddling.
  • Flavored sparkling water adds flair: raspberry, lime or lemon-lime soda.
  • Patriotic twist: White grape juice + berries = red-white-blue layered effect.
  • Herbal swap: Replace mint with basil or lemon verbena.
  • Batching tip: Make bigger batches in a pitcher; add soda right before serving to keep fizz.
  • Fall-back autumn parties: swap to blackberries and lime for seasonal flair
  • Holiday parties: can be dressed-up with edible glitter or frozen berries as ice cubes.
  • Make it alcoholic: Vodka or white rum both go great with the existing mocktail flavors, if desired.
